Axcera Introduces DM8C-R ATSC Exciter at NAB 2011

< back to press releases

LAWRENCE, PA, USA (April 5, 2011) – Axcera, a leading manufacturer and integrator of field-proven technology for the broadcast and mobile media industries, today announced that it will introduce its new DM8C-R ATSC Exciter at the National Association of Broadcasters trade show, April 11th through April 14th, at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The DM8C-R builds on the field-proven technology of Axcera's digital exciter family, and is designed to provide broadcasters the most flexible solution available. All DM8C-R Exciters come standard with Axcera's One-Touch Correction (OTC) that corrects distortions at the touch of a button. The DM8C-R can also be equipped with Axcera's Adaptive Correction Technology (AXACT) option, making it able to continuously correct distortions in the transmission signal, and DTVision™ signal analysis software that samples the transmitter output and measures critical performance parameters, replacing expensive test equipment. The DM8C-R also features DDS (Direct Digital Synthesis) Technology that eliminates the analog upconverter, reducing phase noise and improving transmitter SNR performance.

The DM8C-R supports ATSC Mobile DTV and Distributed Transmission Systems and can be used to upgrade or retrofit a broadcaster's existing transmitter regardless of manufacturer.

For more information about the DM8C-R Exciter, Axcera, or any of its products please visit www.axcera.com or stop by NAB booth SU2908.
